Other Mappers?

I'm sure there are other people in mops that would like to give hammer a go. It's an incredibly satisfying feeling to have created something, then stand back and watch 20+ people around aus run around enjoying and exploring it's features. It's great fun to make little gizmos and gadgets in your spare time i.e Lazor cannons, implementable on any source game. and such. As well as mapping, hammer branches off to Modelling and Texturing, as Hammer has no boundaries with custom content, every physical implication of hammer can be visually edited though your own custom content, adding custom props and textures. 10 Bonus points for originality. If your interested in coding, it is well within your reach to create your own Entities in hammer to complete certain tasks being server side game changing effects or such changes to the way you can build in hammer. This can be used to associate maps with server plugins that can be put on the server just for your map. For instance, the Fort Wars plugins allows you to download a custom modpack for hammer that adds specific entities to hammer that allow you to make custom maps for Fortwars where you can Add BuildZones and such. In short, hammer is great fun and its a shame to only see me and tent working on maps, with the occasional guy starting and forgetting about hammer. It suits many occasions, say mapping isn't your thing, maybe you like coding/texturing/modelling more, it's open for your desires. I hope to see more user submitted content to mops. I'm more then happy to help in any endeavours to getting started with hammer.

I was actually working on my own map ages ago (1 year ago if I recall), however hammer kept fucking up and I lost everything. Plus I recently replaced my hard drive so everythings wiped either way.

Tried but hammer didn't let me use any materials. Im now doing skyrim modding but that keeps fucking up

haven't tried anything else yet (standard sdk, no year tag)
