The Profound Tux.

Sup forum, I just wanted to be enlightened by a discussion on the price of the tux, and peoples opinions to what they think the price would/should be given reasons. Personally I believe the price will rise depending of its comparison to Buds. The price all depends on rarity and demand. Atm everyone wants one.. and they are pricing them very low, so they can get one themselves when they become trade able. If you want a good price, u will have to wait it out until the promo is over. If there are less tux then Buds, u can expect an eventual and gradual price rise, eventually passing the price of buds, this is why many people are stockpiling them.

So forget what people say, they will probably be worth a high value. All we can do is hope there are less then buds.

Nothing will happen for a while, like bmocs and ebs. That said, there will be those that highball them immediately to desperate traders. And if enough follow suite it might hit a high point early on.

Update/Fix: There will be Less tux then buds, (almost less then half) with only a few days to go. Thus you can expect the price to rise well past buds, gradually. c: (there are 22K Tux, 57K Buds.)

(A Brief explanation on why it's priced High, because Alot of people were stating how linux is free, and how much exposure it got:
This requires a simple answer, the price of the item is not effected by how the item is achieved, it is only effected by rarity and demand. Simply put, a lot of people use mac, so by default a lot of buds were created. On the other-hand many people know that linux is free, but linux is mainly used by devs, and coders (usually python) and is not really used publicly, this is why most of the people using linux for the tux had to go to the effort of installing it. this is where the rarity comes in, most people Do not use linux and have not planned on installing it for the tux. Therefore there's a lower number and more rarity. The demand comes where people cant be fucked to get linux themselves and want a tux for themselves, and since there are less, people pay more. I guess this wasn't a simple answer but It served it's purpose)

so many people farmed these tuxs on multiple accounts and if they do turn out to be only worth about a key you still need to use gift wrap which also costs a key:3 so in that case its worthless

well thats less then half of them then buds atm so u can expect more then buds price easily.

Sold mine for 2 buds + sweets.

Its not tradeable yet e.e, and u cant giftwrap it.

I got the Tux 1st Edition which was tradeable.

Also, Mac just sold the alt account with the Tux on it and that works too.

But the best method is to beg Valve for Tux 1st Edition and sell that for 3 buds.

God damn why aren't they tradeable yet, its almost been a fucking month and I want my penguin army. >.<

So. Valve. When will they be trade-able.
